Hide From Bots

Website page loading speed is a serious factor that affects the store visitor’s satisfaction level. The speed depends on both internal and external reasons, one of which is user-agents (bots).

Bots designed to perform repetitive and monotonous actions on a website are often the cause of a heavy load on the server. This feature often makes it a tool for malicious attacks that paralyze the site. 

What does the add-on do?

The add-on makes part of the content invisible for indexing and leaves the bots only that part of the page, the processing of which will not lead to increased server load. This remaining part usualy does not contain unnecessary links, does not require complex actions (products sorting, filters, etc.) - does not lead to the opening of a large number of pages that slow down the server.

At the same time, a real visitor will see the full version of the page with all its content, without changes.

Special Block Setting

Every block has an additional add-on setting - Hide a block from bots. A block with this setting enabled will be hidden from bots (Forbidden user-agents) and requests from IP-addresses (Forbidden IP addresses).

List of Forbidden IP addresses

The add-on add-s a list of forbidden IPs that you can edit.

When requesting from an IP address included in this list, a block with the active setting Hide a block from bots will be hidden from bots.

List of Forbidden User-Agents

The add-on adds a list of forbidden user-agents that you can edit.

A block with active setting Hide a block from bots will be hidden from user-agents included in this list.

Compatibility
